Bangladeshi Cuisine
The Elaichi Tandoori Restaurant offers a range of dishes that are pleasingly different from standard Bangladeshi fare, and include mussels, crab, squid and scallops, as well as the more usual lamb, chicken and prawn. There are plenty of vegetarian dishes too. The Head Chef says “Our food is highly flavoured and very tasty, but not too hot”.
Christopher Gray from The Oxford Times on his second visit to Elaichi 2002 wrote “Elaichi blows away any competition for its freshness taste of the food”
What does Elaichi mean?
Elaichi is another name for the cardamom, whose pods contain fragrant seeds, used throughout the world in both savory and sweet dish.
